I had a great time staying at a unique and well-maintained historic building. The private apartment I stayed in was comfortable and provided everything I needed. The location was fantastic, being very close to the ferry port and a short walk to the old parts of the city. The hotel facilities seemed newly refurbished and the environment was relatively quiet. The staff kept the place clean and were helpful and friendly.

Convenient Location & Fair Price

The hostel was conveniently located within walking distance from the ferry harbor, making it easy for us to reach. the price was also very fair considering the amenities provided.

We could hear people talking outside the building and traffic noise from the road, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. the room itself was quite dark and humid, even during the daytime.

Loved the quirky experience of staying in a prison hostel. Great yard for drinks and food. Free parking. Shared facilities were clean. Lovely natural surroundings at Almedalen and DBW's Botanical Garden.

Who needs comfortable beds and a good night's sleep when you can party all night in cramped, noisy rooms with drunk youngsters?

I keep going back to my favorite place in Visby. The staff is helpful, giving me great restaurant advice. It has everything I need: Wi-Fi, parking, kitchen, laundry, and more. Can't wait to return for Christmas!

Converted jail, well soundproofed rooms. 5 min from ferry terminal. Late check-in well-organised. Old walled city uphill, 5-10 min to info centre, museum, bus station, supermarket. Small boat harbour across street.

The apartment at Visby Faengelse was spacious and had a fully equipped kitchen. It was perfect for me as a guest with disabilities, as I could easily move around and prepare meals comfortably.

The shared toilets and showers in the corridor were not ideal for me. However, I understand that this is a subjective opinion and others may not have an issue with it.

the hostel's location, just 400 meters from the harbor, was incredibly convenient. the atmosphere, being an old prison, added an exciting touch to the experience. Plus, there were plenty of historical sites within walking distance, making it an ideal stay for history enthusiasts like myself. Cons: Absolutely no complaints! 👍.

The apartment at Visby Fangelse was just perfect for our family. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to cook our own meals. The bunk bed in the bedroom was a hit with the kids, and the openable windows provided a nice breeze.

Personally, I found sharing the toilets and showers in the corridor a bit inconvenient.
